Open about the method
A high rating is a start. The number of experiences, recent feedback and timely responses add more depth to the picture.
Method industry-v1Published, genuine reviews on our platform. All reviews count for 70%, recent experiences for 20% and timely responses for 10%.
The Google rating and review count from the available source measurement. Only measurements no more than 45 days old count.
60% trustmark.site and 40% Google. When only one source is available, we use that source in full and mark the score as provisional.
A fair start. The average rating is weighted with 20 reference reviews of 4 stars. This prevents a single five-star review from immediately taking first place. The more genuine reviews there are, the more weight the business’s own average receives.
What counts as recent. For trustmark.site, we look at the last 90 days. A public response within 7 days counts as timely. The timely response rate is calculated across all published platform reviews. Unanswered reviews do not count as timely. If there are no recent reviews, we use the weighted score of all platform reviews for the recent-review component.
From stars to points. We calculate a source’s weighted score as ((review count × average + 20 × 4) / (review count + 20) − 1) × 25. This produces a scale from 0 to 100. The platform score combines all reviews, recent reviews and the response rate. Positions use the full score; displayed figures are rounded. Ties are resolved first by review count, then by the fixed business identifier.
A new measurement every month. The ranking stores positions for each measurement month. Green means higher, red means lower, and a dash means the same position as last month. New entries are marked “New”; without a comparable previous measurement, we show “No comparison”. Businesses can also move because others change.
You cannot buy a position. A paid plan, profile claim or certification does not affect the score. Example reviews and unpublished reviews do not count. Businesses without suitable ratings are not given a made-up score.
Three ranks, one scale per source. The trustmark.site and Google ranks are positions within this industry based on each source’s weighted score. The combined rank uses both. A Google rank here is a review ranking, not a position in Google search results.
